Steampunk Couture

Supplies:

Tube of choice. I am using the art of VeryMany. You can purchase this tube here.

Font of choice. I am using Algerian.

Open Frame 9. Resize by 70%, all layers unchecked. Now resize all layers by 61%.

Open your mask & Paper 2. Resize your paper by 60%. Paste your paper as a new layer onto your frame canvas. Move below your frame layer. Apply your mask, merge group. Duplicate the masked layer, then merge down.

Open Element 124. Resize by 60%. Paste as a new layer. Place to the top so you see it peeking out the top of your frame. Move a little to the left. Duplicate, flip horizontal & place to the bottom left.

Open Element 97. Resize by 40%. Place up & to the left of the frame.

On your frame layer, use your magic wand tool & click inside your frame. Selections, modify, expand by 10.

Open Paper 22 & resize by 60%. Paste as a new layer. Selections, invert & press delete. Deselect & move the paper below the frame layer.

Now to add our remaining elements:

131 – resize by 40%, flip horizontal. Paste as a new layer above the frame layer. Place to the top left of the frame. Rotate a little to the right. Duplicate, free rotate, right 180. Place to the bottom right of the frame. Rotate slightly so that the leaves are at the same angle as the first leaves.
84 – resize by 40%. Place over the top left leaves. Rotate so it’s the same angle as the leaves. Duplicate, free rotate, right 180. Place over the bottom right leaves.
126 – resize by 20%. Place to the top left, over where the top two gears meet.
120 – resize by 25%. Place over the white flower deco. Free rotate if desired.
13 – resize by 25%. Place over the brown flower. Rotate slightly to the left.
157 – resize by 50%. Place to your liking.
69 – resize by 40%. Place to the bottom left.
76 – resize by 20%. Place to the bottom, in the middle of the suitcases. Rotate slightly to the left.
153 – resize by 50%. Place to the bottom.
85 – resize by 25%. Place to the bottom left of the card.
2 – resize by 30%. Place to the right side of the suitcases.

Duplicate the brown flower, free rotate, right 180. Move above the ribbon layer. Place over the bottom right white flower deco.

Duplicate the pink flower. Move above the duplicate brown flower. Place over the brown flower.

Open your tube, resizing as necessary. Paste as a new layer above the butterfly layer, flip horizontal. Erase any part of the tube that hangs below the suitcases.

Duplicate your tube, gaussian blur 3.00. Set the blend mode to Screen, 77.

Add your name, copyright, & license info. Apply a drop shadow of choice, then merge visible. Save as a PNG.

Open Frame 13. Resize by 75%, all layers unchecked. Set the canvas size to 980 x 980. Resize all layers by 61%.

Open your mask & Paper 5. Resize your paper by 60%. Paste as a new layer onto your frame canvas. Move your paper below the frame layer. Apply your mask, merge group.

On your frame layer, use your magic wand & click inside the frame. Selections, modify, expand by 10.

Open Paper 18 & resize by 60%. Paste as a new layer. Selections, invert & press delete. Deselect & move below the frame layer.

Let’s add our elements:

117 – resize by 40%. Place a little down & to the right.
90 – resize by 40%. Place over the right side of the frame, a little down.
60 – resize by 50%. Place to the bottom.
42 – resize by 40%. Place to the top left of the frame.
78 – resize by 40%. Place to the top left corner of the frame.
110 – resize by 25%. Place over the flowers in the upper left corner.
68 – resize by 25%. Place below the camera.

Duplicate the white flowers layer. Rotate right, flip horizontal. Place to the bottom left.

93 – resize by 40%, rotate left. Place over the white flowers along the right side.

Duplicate the flowers in the upper left corner. Move this layer to the top layer. Place to the bottom right corner.

84 – resize by 50%. Place to the bottom right.
108 – resize by 30%. Place to the bottom right, a little up from the bottom. Rotate slightly to the left.
40 – resize by 20%. Place below the label.
73 – resize by 20%. Place to the bottom left of the film.
77 – resize by 20%. Place to the left side of the daisy.
3 – resize by 25%. Place to the right of the pink daisy.
118 – resize by 50%. Place to your liking.

Open your tube, resizing as necessary. Paste as a new layer above the white bow layer. Center over your frame.

Add your name, copyright, & license info. Apply a drop shadow of choice to your layers, then merge visible. Save as a PNG.

Open Frame 19. Resize by 70%, all layers unchecked. Now resize all layers by 62%.

Open Frame 15. Resize by 50%. Paste as a new layer on your paper frame canvas. Move below the paper frame layer.

On your paper frame layer, use your magic wand & click inside the frame. Selections, modify, expand by 5. Open Paper 33 & resize by 60%. Copy & paste as a new layer. Selections, invert & press delete. Deselect & move below the paper frame layer.

Now let’s add our elements:

113 – resize by 30%. Place to the bottom right. Duplicate & place to the bottom left.
73 – resize by 30%. Place to the bottom left.
111 – resize by 40%. Place to the right side. Duplicate, flip horizontal & place to the left side.
100 – resize by 40%, flip horizontal. Place to the right side.
106 – resize by 25%. Place to the bottom of the white flowers. Rotate slightly to the left.
85 – resize by 40%. Place to the bottom right. Duplicate, flip horizontal & place to the bottom left.
128 – resize by 60%. Place to the bottom.
6 – resize by 25%. Place to the bottom of the basket of grass.
26 – resize by 15%. Place to the left of the jar.
97 – resize by 20%. Place to the bottom.
94 – resize by 15%. Place to the left side of the pink flower. Duplicate & place to the right side. Move the pink flower above the red roses layers.
123 – resize by 50%. Place to the bottom.

3 – resize by 25%. Place to the bottom right.
5 – resize by 50%. Paste as a new layer.
127 – resize by 30%. Paste as a new layer.

Open your tube. Paste as a new layer above the paper layer. Flip horizontal & place the face of your tube over the left side of the paper layer. On the paper layer, select all, float, defloat. On the tube layer, selections, invert & press delete. Deselect.

Dupicate your tube layer, gaussian blur 3.00. Set the blend mode to Screen. On the original layer, set the blend mode to Overlay.

Paste your tube again, this time above the frame layer. Resize as necessary. Erase any part of the tube that hangs below the flowers.

Add your name, copyright, & license info. Apply a drop shadow of choice, then merge visible. Save as a PNG.

Sultry Rendezvous

Open Frame 4. Resize by 62%. Now resize by 70%, all layers unchecked.

Open your mask & Paper 1. Resize your paper by 60%, then paste as a new layer onto your frame canvas. Move your paper below your frame layer. Apply your mask, merge group. Duplicate the mask layer.

Open Frame 5. Resize by 55%. Paste as a new layer & center behind the first frame.

On the first frame layer, use your magic wand & click inside the frame. Selections, modify, expand by 10.

Open Paper 28 & resize by 60%. Paste as a new layer. Selections, invert & press delete. Deselect & move below the first frame layer.

Now let’s add our elements:

123 – resize by 25%, flip horizontal. Place to the top of the frame.
113 – resize by 20%. Place in the center of the two flowers.
62 – resize by 15%. Place over the daisy.
3 – resize by 20%. Place to the bottom left of the flowers. Rotate slightly to the left.
90 – resize by 40%. Place to the right side of the frame.
101 – resize by 60%. Place to the bottom.
132 – resize by 60%. Place to the bottom.
70 – resize by 30%. Place to the bottom left. Rotate slightly to the left.
47 – resize by 25%. Place to the bottom right.
126 – resize by 40%. Place to the bottom.
144 – resize by 40%. Place to the bottom.
116 – resize by 20%. Place to the bottom.

On the daisy layer, duplicate and move above the flower branch layer. Place to the left side of the rose. Duplicate & place to the right side of the rose.

56 – resize by 25%. Place to the right side of the bottom right daisy.
31 – resize by 25%. Place to the bottom right.
98 – resize by 50%. Place towards the bottom.
7 – resize by 25%. Place to the bottom right of the card.
154 – resize by 50%. Place to your liking.

Open your tube. Paste as a new layer above the paper layer. Place her face over the left side of the paper. On the paper layer, select all, float, defloat. On your tube layer, selections, invert & press delete. Deselect. Duplicate your tube, gaussian blur 3.00. Set the blend mode to Screen.

Effects, Artistic Effects, Halftone using the following settings:

Shift + L, 0, 0.

Set the opacity for this layer to 53.

Just above the butterfly layer, paste your tube again, resizing as necessary. Flip horizontal & place over the right side of the frame. With your rectangle selection tool, delete any part of the tube that hangs below the bottom flowers. Duplicate your tube, gaussian blur using the same settings as before. Set the blend mode to Overlay. On the original layer, Shift + L using the previous settings.

Add your name, copyright, & license info. Apply a drop shadow of choice to your layers, then merge visible. Save as a PNG.

Blooming Beauty

155 – resize by 50%. Paste as a new layer above your frame layer. Place to your liking.
126 – resize by 60%. Place to the bottom.
48 – resize by 25%, flip horizontal. Place along the top left of the frame.
133 – resize by 40%. Place over the right side of the frame.
99 – resize by 20%. Duplicate. Leave the duplicate for now…we’ll get to the placement in a bit.
118 – resize by 20%. Duplicate.
64 – resize by 25%. Place to the bottom, slightly to the right.
6 – resize by 30%. Place to the bottom right.
141 – resize by 50%. Place to the bottom.
153 – resize by 60%, rotate right. Place to your liking.

Move your duplicate pink flower above the dog layer. Place to the bottom left of the dog.
Move your duplicate blue flower above the branch layer. Place to the bottom right of the duplicate pink flower.

Open your tube, resizing as necessary. Paste as a new layer above the keys layer & place over the frame opening. Xero Porcelain using the default settings. Duplicate, gaussian blur 3.00. Set the blend mode to Screen, 50.

Add your name, copyright, & license info. Apply a drop shadow of choice to your layers, then merge visible. Save as a PNG.

Open a new blank image, 851 x 315.

Open Paper 15. Resize by 86%. Paste your paper as a new layer onto your blank canvas.

Let’s add our elements:

93 – resize by 50%. Paste as a new layer. Place a little down and to the far right.
172 – resize by 40%. Place to the bottom left corner. Duplicate & place to the bottom right corner.
171 – resize by 30%. Place to the bottom, a little to the left of the center. Duplicate, flip horizontal & place a little to the right of the center.
38 – resize by 25%. Place to the bottom left, a little up from the bottom edge.
161 – resize by 25%, flip vertical. Place to the bottom right, over the grass. Rotate a little to the left.
149 – resize by 30%. Place to the bottom right, over the grass.
91 – resize by 25%, flip horizontal. Place to the bottom right corner.
90 – resize by 15%. Place over the left side of the shells.
33 – resize by 30%. Place to the right of the coconut.
28 – resize by 40%. Place to the bottom left corner.
133 – resize by 15%. Place to the bottom, slightly to the right of center. Duplicate & place slightly to the left of center.
82 – resize by 30%. Place to the bottom right of the drink.
159 – resize by 15%. Place to the bottom between the two blue flowers with the black leaves.
3 – resize by 30%. Place to the bottom, along the left side of the blue green seashell.
177 – paste as a new layer & place to your liking.
178 – paste as a new layer & place to your liking.

Open your tube & paste as a new layer above your paper layer. Place the face over the left side. Duplicate, flip horiontal & place over the right side. Duplicate once more. Place over the center, moving the tube so it’s showing the middle of the tube. Merge the tube layers together. Duplicate, gaussian blur 3.00. Set the blend mode to screen. On the original layer, set the blend mode to soft light.

Paste your tube again, this time above the black & white seashell layer, resizing as necessary. Place a little to the right.

Apply a drop shadow of choice to your layers. Window > Duplicate. On the duplicate, flatten your image. Open your mask. Apply your mask, merge group. Shift + L, 0, 0. Copy your masked image and paste as a new layer onto your original image.

Add a new raster layer & floodfill with #0c0b0d. Select all, modify, contract by 5. Selections, invert & press delete. Selections, invert and then Selections, modify, contract by 3. Press delete again. Add noise, gaussian, 90, monochrome checked. Apply a drop shadow to your frame.

Add your name, copyright, & license info. Add noise to your name, then apply a drop shadow.

Merge visible & save as a PNG.

For the avatar, delete the text & frame layers. With your crop tool, click & drag over the portion of the image you want to use for your avatar. I chose a 200 x 200 section. You can do any size you wish.

Repeat the text & frame layers, then merge visible. Save as a PNG.

Gothic Lolita

Graphics program: GIMP 2.8 (you may use any program of your choice)

This tutorial assumes you have a good working knowledge of your preferred graphics program.

Supplies:

PTU kit from PinkParadoxProductions called Gothic Lolita. You can purchase this kit here.

Font of choice. I am using Harrington.

File > New. Set the image size to 600 x 250 px.

File > Open > Paper 5. Image > Scale Image to 600 x 600. Edit > Copy. On the blank image, Edit > Paste As > New layer.

Next we will ad our elements. To do this, paste your element as a new layer onto the canvas with your paper as we did with the paper. Then select the Scale Tool to resize your elements:

97 – Place to the top left corner. Use your Rotate Tool and rotate a little to the left.
21 – Place over the right side of your canvas.
151 – Place over the right side of your canvas.
193 – Place to the bottom. Rotate a bit to the left. Duplicate twice & arrange them along the bottom of your canvas. Merge these layers together. Duplicate the merged layer. Layer > Transform > Flip Horizontally. Place over the empty spots from the original merged leaves layer.
61 – Place to the left edge of your canvas, moving a little towards the bottom.
215 – Place to the bottom.
213 – For this one, you want to scale it down so it’s about 3/4th the length of the canvas. Rotate a little to the left so that it is horizontal. Place to the bottom, a little to the right. Duplicate & place to the left.
180 – Place to the bottom. Duplicate twice & arrange similar to how I have mine arranged.
1 – Place between the second & third flower.
229 – Place to your liking.
228 – Place to your liking.

Layer > New Layer. Floodfill with ae0101. Select > All. Select > Shrink > 2. Select > Invert & press delete. Select > None. Select > All. Select > Shrink > 4 & press delete.

Filter > Noise > HSV Noise > 2, 107, 155, 255.

Activate your text tool and add your name & copyright.

If desired, apply a drop shadow of choice. Filters > Light and Shadow > Drop Shadow > 2, 2 , 5, Black, 30.

Hide the paper layer for now. Merge visible. Unhide your paper. Select > All > Float. Select > Invert & on your merged layer, press delete. Deselect.

File > Export & name your image.

For your avatar, you will need to undo the drop shadow, text, & frame layer. Edit > Copy Visible. Open a new image, 200 x 200. Edit > Paste as a new layer and place to your liking. Repeat the drop shadow, text, & frame as you did before. Then Export as a PNG.

Open element 30. Set the canvas size to 680 x 680. Resize by 50%, all layers unchecked.

Mura Meister Copies, Encircle preset using the default settings.

Open Frame 8. Resize by 40%. Paste as a new layer. Resize all layers by 88%.

With your magic wand tool, click inside your frame. Selections, modify, expand by 10.

Open Paper 45. Resize by 60%. Paste as a new layer. Move your paper a little up & to the left. Selections, invert & press delete. Deselect. Move the paper below your frame layer.

Now let’s add the rest of our elements:

104 – resize by 30%. Paste as a new layer above your frame layer. Place to the top right corner of the frame.
43 – resize by 40%. Place to the right side of the frame, a little down.
110 – resize by 50%. Place to the left side of the frame.
36 – resize by 20%. Place to the bottom left.
54 – resize by 25%. Place to the bottom, just right of the jewelry box. Rotate slightly to the left.
135 – resize by 50%. Place to the bottom.
10 – resize by 30%. Place to the bottom right.
25 – resize by 25%. Place to the bottom left of the cherub.
105 – resize by 40%. Place to the bottom, a little to the right.
7 – resize by 25%. Place to the bottom, between the jewelry box & tray.
143 – resize by 50%. Paste as a new layer.

Open your tube. Paste as a new layer above the paper layer. Place her face over the right side of the frame opening. On the paper layer, select all, float, defloat. On the tube layer, selections, invert & press delete. Deselect.

Duplicate your tube, gaussian blur 3.00. Set the blend mode to Screen, 40. On the original layer, Penta Color Dot, 255, 8, 255, 255, 255. Lower the opacity for this layer to 36.

Paste your tube again, this time above the purple orchid layer (top left corner). Resize your tube as necessary. Place over the left side of the frame.

Add your name, copyright, & license info. Apply a drop shadow of choice, then merge visible. Save as a PNG.

Open Paper 32 & resize by 60%. Paste as a new layer onto your frame canvas. Selections, invert & press delete. Deselect & move below your frame layer.

Open your mask & Paper 30. Resize by 60%. Paste as a new layer. Move this paper below the first paper. Apply your mask, merge group.

Next we’ll add our elements:

122 – resize by 30%. Paste as a new layer above the frame layer & place to the top left of the frame. Duplicate, flip horizontal & place to the top right of the frame.
65 – resize by 25%. Place to the top of the frame, between the two sets of flowers.
117 – resize by 40% Place to the bottom left side of the frame.
43 – resize by 50%. Place to the bottom.
131 – resize by 35%, rotate left. Place to the bottom left. Duplicate, flip horizontal & place to the bottom right.
101 – resize by 25%, flip horizontal. Place to the bottom.
15 – resize by 30%. Place to the bottom left.
62 – resize by 25%. Place to the bottom right of the cherub.
145 – resize by 50%. Place to the bottom.
57 – resize by 40%. Place to the right side of the frame.

Open your tube, resizing as necessary. Paste as a new layer above the tulip flower layer. Place so she’s in the center.

Open your template. Set the canvas size to 800 x 800. Resize by 75%.

Delete the following layers: Info, spring, love, joy, everything, wording white, & wordart d/s.

Open your mask & Paper 13. Resize your paper by 60%. Paste your paper as a new layer above the background layer. Apply your mask, merge group. Add noise, Uniform, 20, Monochrome checked. Delete the background layer.

*NOTE: Resize all papers 60%*

Replace each layer with the following:

white square – Paper 20
purple rectangle – Paper 4
yellow square – Paper 16
blue strip – Paper 9
purple circle – Paper 21
blue circle – Paper 7
yellow ring – select all, float, defloat. Add a new raster layer & floodfill with #d3080b. Deselect. Add noise using the same settings as before.
white strip – Paper 20
yellow strip – Paper 16
purple strip – Paper 4

Now let’s add our elements:

82 – resize by 20%. Paste above the purple flower layer. Place over the purple flower, then delete the purple flower layer.
92 – resize by 20%. Paste above the white flower layer. Place over the white flower, then delete the white flower layer.
115 – resize by 40%, flip horizontal. Paste as a new layer above the red paper strip layer. Place to the bottom right of the red frame, a little to the right. Rotate slightly to the right. Duplicate, free rotate right 180.
64 – resize by 50%. Paste as a new layer above the top slat layer. Place to the bottom.
66 – resize by 50%. Place to the bottom.
98 – resize by 40%, flip horizontal. Place to the top of the red frame, a little to the right. Duplicate, free rotate right, 180.
128 – resize by 30%. Place over the top right flower spray.
8 – resize by 30%. Place over the bow.
99 – resize by 30%. Place to the bottom right. Duplicate & place to the bottom left.
106 – resize by 30%. Place over the left daisies. Duplicate, flip horizontal & place over the right daisies.
75 – resize by 50%. Place to the bottom right of the pink flowers.
45 – resize by 30%, flip horizontal. Place to the bottom.
127 – resize by 50%. Place to the bottom.
7 – resize by 25%. Place to the left of the basket.
18 – resize by 30%. Place to the bottom of the right daisies.
23 – resize by 25%. Place to the bottom right of the basket.

Open your tube, resizing as necessary. Paste as a new layer above the bow layer. Place to the right of the strip layers.

Add your name, copyright, & license info. Apply a drop shadow of choice to your layers, then merge visible. Save as a PNG.
