New Fall Masks

With the seasons changing and the nice cool air brewing (I wish it would get here, though lol)…I figured I’d throw together some new fall masks.

Urban Gypsy

This tutorial was written by me on September 16th, 2017 and is my own creation. Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental and unintentional.

PSP Version used: PSP X5

This tutorial assumes you have a good working knowledge of PSP.

Supplies:

Tube of choice. I am using the art of VeryMany. You can find the tube here.

Font of choice. I am using Aristotle Punk.

Filters:

Xero – Fritillary

Open Frame 13. Resize by 75%, all layers unchecked. Now resize all layers by 75%. Set the canvas size to 600 x 500.

With your magic wand tool, click inside each individual frame. Selections, modify, expand by 5.

Open Paper 6 & resize by 60%. Paste as a new layer onto your frame canvas. Selections, invert & press delete. Deselect & move below the frame layer.

Open your mask & Paper 1. Resize your paper by 60%. Paste as a new layer onto your frame canvas. Move to the bottom layer. Apply your mask, merge group. Add noise, random, 20, monochrome checked.

Now let’s add our elements:

120 – resize by 67%, rotate right. Paste as a new layer above the frame layer. Place over the center where each row of frames meet.
103 – resize by 20%. Place over the middle of the metal deco. Duplicate twice. Place one to the left & one to the right.
55 – resize by 25%. Place the loop over the top right corner of the top left frame.
105 – resize by 35%, rotate right. Place to the bottom right. Duplicate, flip horizontal & place to the bottom left.
61 – resize by 15%. Place to the upper left corner.
75 – resize by 25%. Place to the bottom right corner.
77 – resize by 20%, flip horizontal. Place to the bottom left.
63 – resize by 15%. Place to the bottom of the mailbox.
102 – resize by 15%. Place to the top right corner of the sign.
95 – resize by 20%. Place to the bottom.
6 – resize by 23%. Place to the left side of the sewer grate.
65 – resize by 20%. Place to the bottom, between the first & second frames.
14 – resize by 25%. Place to the bottom left, over the tires.
22 – resize by 30%. Place to the upper right corner. Rotate slightly to the right.
12 – resize by 25%. Place to the bottom of the lipstick.
119 – resize by 50%. Paste as a new layer.

Open your tube & paste as a new layer above the paper layer. Resize your tube slightly & place in the top left frame. On the frame layer, use your magic wand & click inside that frame. Selections, modify, expand by 5. Selections, invert. On the tube layer, press delete. Deselect. Do the same for the rest of each individual frame.

When finished placing your tubes to your liking, merge visible. Duplicate, gaussian blur, 3.00. Xero – Fritillary, 5, 80, 27, 0. Set the blend mode to Luminance (L), 34. On the original merged tube layer, set the blend mode to Overlay.

Paste your tube again, this time above the key layer. Resize as necessary. Place towards the right side. Duplicate your tube, gaussian blur using the same settings as before. Set the blend mode to Screen, 50.

Add your name, copyright, & license info. Apply a drop shadow of choice to your layers, then merge visible. Save as a PNG.

Early Autumn Tears

This tutorial assumes you have a good working knowledge of PSP.

Supplies:

Tube of choice. I am using the art of Misticheskaya. You can purchase her tubes here.

PTU kit from PinkParadoxProductions called Early Autumn Tears. You can purchase the kit here.

Font of choice. I am using MCF Stone Head.

Filters: EyeCandy 4000 Glass (optional)

Open a new blank image, 600 x 400.

Open your mask & Paper 13. Resize your paper by 60%. Paste as a new layer onto your blank canvas. Apply your mask, merge group. Dupicate your mask, then merge down.

Open element 98. Resize by 40%. Paste as a new layer.

Open Frame 12. Resize by 35%. Paste as a new layer.

Let’s add the rest of our elements:

4 – resize by 40%. Place so the head of the wolf is inside the left half of the frame.
80 – resize by 40%. Place to the right of the right side of the frame.
19 – resize by 30%. Place to the bottom of the flowers. Rotate a little to the right.
84 – resize by 60%; rotate right. Flip horizontal & place to the bottom, a little to the right.
8 – resize by 15%. Place to the bottom left of the pillow.
5 – resize by 25%; flip horizontal. Place the bat to the outer left of the frame.
82 – resize by 50%. Place to the bottom, a little to the right.
47 – resize by 30%. Place to the bottom of the skull.
14 – resize by 40%. Place to the bottom left.
16 – resize by 15%. Place to the bottom right of the black box.
33 – resize by 20%, flip horizontal. Place to the bottom left of the black box.

Open your tube, resizing as necessary. Paste as a new layer above the wolf layer. Place over the right side of the frame. With your rectangle selection tool, erase any part of the tube that hangs below the book.

On the wolf layer, use the rectangle selection tool to erase any part of the tube that extends beyond the black box, or hangs below the bottom of the tag.

Add your name. Apply the EyeCandy Glass using the settings of your choice. Select all, float, defloat. Selections, modify, expand by 2. Add a new raster layer & floodfill with a gradient of your choice. I created a gradient using 3 colors from the kit. Deselect. Add noise, gaussian, 75, monochrome checked. Move below the text layer. On the text layer, merge down. Place to your liking.

Add your copyright & license info. Apply a drop shadow of choice to your layers, then merge visible. Save as a PNG.
